Business ideas using local resources
New business ideas are developed and implemented using locally available raw materials and resources. Specially trained business consultants provide support throughout this process. In addition, a network of suppliers, customers, lenders, and investors is established.

Building a Green Economy
During this phase, InElam will focus on making use of underutilized local resources—such as Himalayan nettles, dairy products, beekeeping, bamboo, and organic dyes—as well as waste-recycling businesses to create green jobs and build a sustainable, green economy.
InElam is currently in Phase 3
History of the current project
Phase 1: Between 2017 and 2020, the ELAM project supported the development of local value chains and the establishment of small businesses. As a result, over 1,500 businesses and 11,400 jobs were created in the target regions of Nepal. Learn more at
ELAM – Small Business Development in Nepal.
Phase 2: Building on the work of ELAM, additional value chains were established in the following years thanks to the continuation project InElam. These were based on locally available raw materials and recyclable resources. To this end, InElam identified promising products and economic sectors through market and feasibility studies and supported the establishment of corresponding small businesses.
Phase 3: Building on the success of the existing concept, the primary focus will now be on promoting a green, innovative economy.
